Taakulo is a nonprofit organization, based in Mogadishu. Sustainability, transparency, and efficiency are at the core of our work, our mission, and our financial model.
The Taakulo Program offers loans to individuals, entrepreneurs, and community members, enabling them to start businesses, support education, invest in technology, or meet other needs. Applications are evaluated and crowd-funded by generous individuals and organizations. The loans are disbursed to borrowers, who are expected to repay them over a specified period. The repayment funds are reinvested into the program, allowing it to support more individuals and expand its reach.
We continually experiment. We fail quickly and productively. We use data and feedback to guide our course.
